Morning Well, the first day of the show went wonderful. Never sold a gourd! Really? But sold all but 5 light bulbs of the 10 dozen light bulbs I had. I had to take me stand down because it look pitiful empty. LOL There were mixed reviews this year. Not as many people there but I have a feeling that it was the weather. Rain..big time! If we had of had some snow..? Anyways, lots of people were buying small stuff. I saw people with neck laces, scarves, soaps, potpourri ect. The lady across from me did the most amazing painted maple leaves. OMG these are stunning! Framed and anyone you wanted was $60.00. I think they were 8x10. Not a one sold. So sad! I really mean these were stunning. The lady beside me sold a lot of hand creams, soap, candles. The other lady on the other side sold a lot of her beans in bags for crock pots. The smell YUM! LOL Kept me hungry all day. So I have today to go. I'll come back and let you know what happens. WISH ME LUCK! I want to sell my gourds LOL Penny OH..one more thing. I had a lady come up to my booth and start snapping pictures with her phone. I smiled and said " Working for the local paper? " She smiled and said " NOPE..stealing your ideas " and walked away! sigh can you believe some people? Not going to make or break my day! Good luck to her! LOLThis message has been edited. Hope your show today was just as successful! Hard to image that none of your gourds sold. At least the lady was up front and honest about stealing your ideas, they usually sneek around.
I'm beginning to think if maybe we could make an enclosed booth type thing with a sign at the door stating no pictures maybe that might help. I just found out there is someone who is taking ideas and making and selling them cheaper. Was almost tempted to turn them in for using copyrighted material (from a football team) but thought, nope, I'm not that petty and I know sometimes some people need the money more than I do. (Although lately I would be kinda hard pressed to find those people LOL).

Morning everyone again! The second day was slower BUT I did sell some of my gourds and I took some of my Halloween light bulbs and sold all those. LOL Just light bulb year I guess. Who knew! LOL The jam lady sold almost all her jams. She was really getting worried at the end there I tell you. Maybe a few cases left and that was all. She makes the most amazing jams. I always purchase my Dutch apple pie jam from her. My treat for myself! :0) So today people seemed to have bird houses or anything related to birds. Crocheted, jewelry, gourds ( sold my apple birdhouse gourds ) Also, saw a lot of coasters going around. Antique looking ones. Really cute. Food of course like baked goods. The lady next to me with the beans almost sold out and the lady with the soaps and creams did really well. So all in all we were all happy and look forward to it next year. I pre-paid so onto the next! Oh and the lady that took the pictures, she came back and apologized to me. She was a new vendor and I had no idea. I accepted her apology. She said that she just found my booth so neat and different that she wanted to show her friends not copy what I had and that I caught her off guard. hehehehehehe Ok Merry Christmas! ;0) Penny

do you have any pics of your booth? Not looking to steal your ideas (LOL!), but I'm needing some ideas for the layout. I have a show coming up Dec. 2nd.

I have to tell you that I did a show on Nov. 3 at a local high school and I noticed a young woman snapping photos of folks, both vendors and shoppers. She came over to my booth while I was finishing up work on a crocheted poncho and asked if she could take my picture. So I smiled, she took the photo and then aked for my name. I gave her one of my cards. That was on Saturday. And when the weekly paper came out on Monday, guess who's photo was attached to the story about the craft show - MINE! My sisters called and said you're in the Watseka paper. I said, I know. It's sort of nice to get recognized for your craft show work in a paper!
Interesting to know what is selling where you all are. I am working hard on stuff for the church Boutique, but this year I am only doing edibles (Jalapeno Jelly, brownies, Cookies, peppermint bark and dog treats, so far).
Congrats Linda...I to made it into the paper I can't believe it. If I knew how to use this new printer and scan it I would post it here. It is so nice to be reconized and I even had customers call to tell me. LOL
Pony600 here is a picture of my booth arrangement for you and GOOD LUCK with it and let us know how it goes for you. Penny
